Are you confused by the concept of building a platform? Maybe you think it's just the technical term for connecting all your digital assets. Or a way to measure your reach?

Why 'It's Not About You.'
Together, we're going to go on a journey through the maze of personal branding and platform building, to uncover your best strategy for standing out in a crowded space.
We'll start by considering the concepts of branding and platform building, how they differ, and why you need both. We'll also learn what's at the heart of true branding, and why ignoring this means everything else you do is wasted effort.
Then we'll dive deeper into branding. You'll discover your existing brand image, from your customer's point of view, and consider how that aligns with your core values, before working on your personal action plan to evolve your brand.
Once you've defined your brand, you'll look at your platform. You'll identify what's working, and what can be improved. You'll also evaluate the best channels for you to spend time in, and the types of content you should create to connect with your audience. Armed with this knowledge, you'll build a strategic platform, designed to gain maximum reach and impact.
Finally, you'll learn how to monitor your brand's success, nip developing problems in the bud, and attract your ideal clients to you, rather than you chasing them. Then, you'll be ready to unleash your own personal brand of awesome on the world.
I'm passionate about raising standards in indie publishing!
Working as a book designer with a small New York publisher, I learned what it takes to produce a professional book, and market it, and I share that with you in my courses.
I have been making my living as a freelance writer since 2009. As well as ghostwriting several books for clients, in subjects ranging from Tarot and Chinese astrology to gluten-free and paleo diets, I have written 3 novels, and published 10 nonfiction books as Sandy Gee.
I have taught Creative Writing for Adults at a local academy as well as with private clients. I also offer book formatting and design services, along with editing and proof-reading on my site and through freelancing sites. These are labor-intensive jobs, where the costs can quickly rack up. Not everyone has the budget for several rounds of editing and professional book design, particularly new writers, who often need them most.
I started teaching online based on the, "teach a man to fish," principle. I want to help as many writers as I can on their journey to indie author success.
For those who simply can't afford to invest thousands of dollars per book for professional services, my courses represent a cheaper route to market. For a one-time investment of a few dollars to a few hundred dollars, you can learn how to invest your time rather than money, retain complete creative control over your books, and produce a product you can be proud of.
I welcome feedback and will always answer your questions, and do whatever I can to help you. Because for me, teaching online isn't just about course content, it's about individual and group support.
